Our Story
It's a goodie! And if you're reading this then I'm sure you know almost (if not) all of it.

The year was 2021 . . .
​
Fred was living in the bush, quite content with life and pretty sure he was only going to find someone to marry at 45. Well luckily we moved up his timeline by 15 years :)
​
Amy was living her best life in East London when inspiration (and some divine intervention) led her to forget her accounting aspirations and head off to become a game ranger.
​
He was looking to leave the Lowveld, she was looking to move there.
​
It seemed that they were destined to never meet...but in true divine fashion the Lord had other plans, and His plans were far greater than they could ever imagine.
​
Amy's doors opened and Fred's doors closed, meaning that, unbeknown to them, the "one" was on her way to meet the man she was going to marry . . .

A bit about us as a couple
We met as rangers and guides in the Lowveld! We have such special memories sharing our passion together for a whole year. I remember both being in an amazing wild dog sighting, with just us and our guests. Another time we were with rhinos and both of our guests all picked up their binoculars...not to look at the rhinos, but to check their guide's partner out! It was a lot of fun and even through the ups and downs, it is an experience we will never forget!
One of the first things we soon realised when getting to know each other is that we both grew up making skottel's in the Park! And so our parents' traditions have become our own, with a few tweaks here and there, it's now a favourite thing of ours to do. Now that we live in Hoedspruit, we have unlimited access to the Kruger - one of our favourite place in the world - meaning more skottels than ever before! We are now fully versed in the art of the skottel and operate as a well-oiled machine. Come visit us, and we'll show you our skills ;)

Accommodation
Assegaaibosch Country Lodge and Kareedouw

There is accommodation available for all guests on the property where the wedding venue is located, named Assegaaibosch Country Lodge, as well as 2km down the road in Kareedouw. Arrangements have been made on your behalf and Trevor or Edrich will be in touch with you regarding these arrangements.
​
Please note that wherever you are staying, the idea is to have everyone at the venue for the majority of the weekend including the important Friday night Welcome celebration. Dinner and breakfasts, will be catered for at the lodge so that we can all be together. All guests are welcome to make use of the facilities (swimming pool, tennis courts etc.) of Assegaaibosch Country Lodge throughout the weekend!

Getting There
Assegaaibosch Country Lodge and Inniebos Wedding Venue are located 130km from Port Elizabeth or 105km from Plettenberg Bay on the Route 62.
